Abstract

The development of information technology has provided various benefits in data management, decision-making, and business processes. However, the use of information systems also raises several ethical issues that require careful consideration, particularly regarding privacy, data security, information accuracy, accountability, and transparency. This study aims to analyze ethical issues related to the use of information systems, information systems development processes, and project management. The method employed is a literature review involving the examination of relevant scholarly sources, including academic journals, books, and publications on information technology ethics. The discussion focuses on identifying ethical risks in data collection and utilization, developers’ responsibilities in designing secure and fair systems, and project managers’ roles in ensuring compliance with ethical standards and applicable regulations. The findings are expected to demonstrate that the implementation of ethical principles, data protection, accountability, and transparency is essential to creating responsible information systems. Therefore, integrating ethical considerations into every stage of system development and project management is necessary to strengthen user trust and minimize the negative impacts of information technology use.
